New York

I spent new years in New York this year.  It was my first time visiting the acclaimed city of cities and it definitely lived up to it’s reputation as the city that doesn’t sleep.  Everything is open late and there is always people up and things to do.  Truly incredible.    I felt very safe while walking around and exploring downtown.  Beautiful city, can’t wait to visit again.

Santiago

I visited Chile for Jan – Mar 2014 in an attempt to escape Canadian winters.  Was a real amazing trip.  I spent most of the time based out of Santiago while visiting other cities around the coast.  Was able to work remotely out of Startup Chile.  It’s a very cool global entrepreneurship incubator where entrants get $40k USD to start a company in Chile.  Made some great friends and business contacts and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens to the companies that mature out of the program.

Inevitably I learned a lot about wine.  It’s a huge part of the culture and national commerce there.  Had a chance to walk through the 2nd large vineyard in the world and sample the grapes.  Would go back anytime.
