Water. Better in or out?

I’m 9 days out from stepping on stage and it’s really interesting how precise my water intake has to be.  Right now I’m drinking about 8 Litres of water a day.

(Yes there are many trips to the washroom.)

As I get closer and closer to the competition this will decrease until the day of the show where I don’t get to drink any water and I only take smalls sips if I have too.  This is to manipulate my body into not holding excess water.

You want to be as dry as possible for the show, since this will let all the vascularity come through.  Especially once you’ve over indulged in sugars and carbs to fill out your muscles.

This is the cost I suppose for looking your best….at least the most vascular.  There are lots of people who don’t like the ripped look, but in the fitness world it is a must for the few minutes you get on stage.

Well I need to go fill my water bottle again…and go pee.

10 days out! It’s go time!

In exactly 10 days I will be stepping on stage for the first time as a finale for completing my fitness transformation with HitchFit.  I’m in the last stretch but it’s no walk in the park.

What’s changing in the next ten days?  Lots.

It’s a finely timed process of exercising and dieting which should flush out the remaining water and fat.   Hopefully this will get my body fat down to somewhere in the 5% range, which has been my fitness goal for 2012.

My water intake will be going up to about 8L a day and then slowly going down to nothing right before the show.  Crazy I know.  The goal is to manipulate my body so that it’s not holding water so the vascularity can really show through.  Should be an interesting process.

I will be travelling back down to Kansas the weekend before to get ready for the show and to help me focus.

I’ll also be blogging everyday so make sure you’ve subscribed to get all the updates.

Half way there!

There are 6 more weeks before I step on stage May 12th at the WBFF central championship.

I’m pretty happy so far with the results, but I still have a lot of work to do and the hardest part is yet to come.  My nutrition plan is changing up again along with my workouts to keep my body guessing.  Not going to lie it’s pretty exhausting.

Last thursday I did my first early morning photo shoot as a fitness model. Was a little nervous about it because I’m not quite where I want to be yet.  But the shot turned out pretty good. It will be used for promotion and possibly some other cool stuff.  I’ll be posting more on my Facebook page later.
