How to get the perfect tan.

The time of scorching yourself in the sun or frying yourself in a tanning bed has come and gone. Thankfully!

When looking to get the perfect tan before a photo shoot, show or just a vacation all you have to do is find a professional spray tanner.

If you are in Kansas I recommend tanperfekt.com  which is where I got one yesterday for my week in sunny Kansas and also because I have a photo shoot Thursday.  They will also be doing my backstage tan before I step on stage with the WBFF.

Some things you should know about getting a spray tan.

1. They usually last about a week.
2. If you exfoliate they come off.
3. If you moisturize then it will last longer.
4. You can get a variety of different tones.
5. Some parts of you will tan darker (Hands, feet, nails, lips) so might need to put a cream or gel over them.  Just follow the directions of whoever is tanning you.

Getting the perfect tan is easy now but it does not replace the positive feeling you get from being out in the sun.  Thank you vitamin D absorption.  This is also why some people get depressed in fall and winter.  Lack of sun or vitamin D.

So tan inside, but still find time for the sun.  Just don’t burn yourself trying to tan.

Day 5 – In Kansas. What now?

So last night I arrived in Kansas after driving through the craziest lightning show I’ve ever seen.  The sky was so cool.  There was even hail at one point.  No joke.  Guess I’m a bit adventurous since I think big storms and driving through them or cool.

Now that I’m here I’m spending my time mostly eating chicken, tilapia, asparagus and almond butter.  Plus drinking about 8L of water.  I’m also working remotely so that I don’t have to take any extra time off work.  Sometimes it’s nice when your job is on a computer,  sometimes not.  If you don’t schedule breaks you could technically never stop working.

Long walks have also become part of my workout regime.  To much high intensity cardio will burn through my muscle at this point.

I’m still holding a bit of fat that I want to cut before the show.  Abs and lower back are always last to go, but since this is my first time cutting like this I’m worried I won’t be ready.  Sigh.  I guess it’s just nervous.  Some of the guys I’m going to be standing next to have been doing this for years as their jobs.   I have only been working out consistently for about year now and I’m stepping on stage with the pros. Aaa!  Fingers crossed I don’t embarrass myself.

Nerves aside if I look at the positives I’m quite happy.  I’m in the best shape of my life, I know more now about nutrition and exercise then I ever have and I’m meeting a lot of positive inspiring people.  The journey has definitely been worth it.

If you have any questions or things you’d like me to write about in future posts just ask them in the comments below.  Thanks
